The Department of Early Childhood Education at Dongmyung University announced on the 7th that its puppet theater club, "Jageunnanjengi" (Advisor: Professor Yoon Jeong-jin), won the grand prize at the 2024 National Amateur Puppet Theater Festival.

In the performance titled "Let's Go, We Can All Do It!", Jageunnanjengi creatively portrayed a story that allowed young children to learn the posture of great athletes through familiar Taekwondo and less familiar fencing and ssangjul-gon (Chinese martial arts), helping them understand the meaning of challenge and cooperation.

This puppet theater festival was hosted by the Haeundae Cultural Center and the Busan Cultural Content Development Institute and took place at the Haeundae-gu Cultural Complex Center from October 31 to November 2.

Among the 16 teams participating in the competition, Jageunnanjengi received the grand prize as a result of long-term preparation, during which they directly learned and mastered scriptwriting, puppet making, acting, and directing.

Jageunnanjengi has won numerous awards at the National Puppet Theater Competition, including the Gold Prize in 2010, Grand Prize in 2012, Grand Prize in 2017, Excellence Award in 2019, Silver Prize in 2021, and Grand Prize in 2023.
