Hancom announced on the 7th that its consolidated sales for the third quarter of this year were tentatively estimated at 71.16 billion KRW, a 24.91% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the same period rose by 159.88% to 8.48 billion KRW.
Regarding this growth, Hancom stated that the results of web-based products, including cloud Software as a Service (SaaS), which they have been focusing on commercializing for the past two years, have become clearly visible.
Furthermore, the success of new businesses such as cloud services is attributed to their proactive response to the fourth-generation intelligent education administration information system (NAIS) in the education sector, as well as cloud transitions in public and corporate sectors. Hancom continuously researches and develops new products ahead of changes in the IT environment, supplying products tailored to various customer and market demands, including not only installed products but also cloud SaaS, web office, web drafting tools, and Web Hangeul.
In this way, Hancom is growing through new businesses without a decline in sales from existing business sectors. While focusing research, development, and investment in the artificial intelligence (AI) field, the company has recorded an operating profit margin of over 30% in every quarter.
Meanwhile, Hancom is conducting Proof of Concept (PoC) with more than 20 major public institutions and companies, including Gyeonggi Provincial Government and Korea Electric Power Corporation. The 'Hancom Assistant' and 'Hancompedia,' which are being intensively developed this year, are targeted for release within the year.
Hancom Assistant, Hancom's representative AI solution, is characterized by its ability to operate even in closed network environments based on natural language. It is expected to assist efficient document creation by integrating as an add-on not only with the latest version of the 'Hancom Office' package but also with various domestic and international document creation and collaboration tools. It can utilize most document file formats as data, offering high scalability and usability.
