"US Regime Change, New Vitality for Korea-US Partnership"
The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) extended congratulations on the 7th to President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect James David Vance. They stated that this U.S. administration change would be an important opportunity to inject new vitality into the Korea-U.S. partnership and open a new chapter of cooperation between the two countries.

AMCHAM said, "During his previous term, President-elect Trump led significant discussions on trade, economic growth, and security in the Asia-Pacific region," adding, "The President-elect's vision for strengthening economic security and expanding investment aligns deeply with AMCHAM's mission to create a collaborative business environment that positions Korea as a hub in the Asia-Pacific region." They continued, "AMCHAM looks forward to actively supporting President-elect Trump's new leadership to further solidify Korea-U.S. relations amid the rapidly changing global environment."
James Kim, Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM, said, "We sincerely welcome President-elect Trump's term and look forward to cooperating once again on various initiatives to strengthen economic cooperation," adding, "I met with President Trump several times during his previous term and was deeply impressed by his firm commitment to economic growth and his forward-looking vision for America's global leadership."
He added, "President-elect Trump's vision for world peace and prosperity, and his firm commitment to strategic partnerships with allies, will play a crucial role in navigating challenges and opportunities in key sectors such as semiconductors, the digital economy, healthcare, and carbon-neutral energy."
AMCHAM emphasized its active participation in Korean companies' investments in the U.S. Chairman James Kim stated, "During President Trump's first term, AMCHAM not only supported American companies in Korea but also actively encouraged Korean companies to invest in the U.S., achieving significant changes," adding, "This strategic shift has led to strengthened commercial ties between the two countries and continues to play an important role in enhancing the economic partnership today."
They anticipated that the Korea-U.S. alliance and economic partnership would become even stronger. Ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be hosted by Korea next year, they expected the scope of cooperation between the two countries to expand. Chairman James Kim said, "AMCHAM will continue to work closely with both governments to maintain positive momentum," adding, "Especially ahead of the APEC summit to be held in Korea next year, we will further broaden the scope of cooperation."
He said, "AMCHAM looks forward to closely cooperating with the Trump administration to further solidify the strong foundation of Korea-U.S. economic relations and to develop a shared vision for the prosperity and resilience of both countries."
