Original Work Sales Increase 80 Times After Animation Broadcast
Ridi Corporation, which operates the content platform Ridi, announced on the 7th that it will officially publish volumes 1 and 2 of the popular Japanese manga "Wind Breaker" in print.
Started serialization in 2021, the manga Wind Breaker is a school action story about the passion and friendship of high school students protecting their town. It is a hit work that has surpassed 2.6 million cumulative copies sold in Japan. Since the anime of the same name aired in April, sales of the original manga, exclusively serviced on Ridi, have surged more than 80 times compared to two months before the anime broadcast.
Since 2022, Ridi has been directly importing and simultaneously serializing the manga Wind Breaker in Korea and Japan. Riding on the popularity of the work, it has published the print edition following the e-book volumes.
The newly released print editions of the manga Wind Breaker will be published simultaneously in a regular edition and a special edition. The special edition, which includes three types of special goods along with the volumes, will be available in limited quantities. Online pre-orders will be held from the 8th to the 20th at Kyobo Bookstore, Yes24, Aladin, and Ridi Store. From the 21st, it will also be available for purchase at Animate, a specialty store for anime goods.
A Ridi official said, "We are pleased to publish the print edition of the manga Wind Breaker, which is making its debut in Korea," adding, "This print edition will be a special gift for many fans who want to keep the narrative and emotions of Wind Breaker."
The manga Wind Breaker can be enjoyed through the Ridi website or mobile app.
