According to local U.S. media reports such as Fox News on the 6th (Korean time), Trump secured 277 electoral votes, a majority of the Electoral College, making his victory certain in the 47th U.S. presidential election. Meanwhile, Vice President Harris secured only 226 votes.
Vice President Harris received support from major stars active in the U.S. during this election. Singers Taylor Swift, Beyonc?, Billie Eilish, Eminem, actors Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Anne Hathaway, Chlo? Grace Moretz, Ricky Martin, and broadcaster Oprah Winfrey publicly supported Harris. Arnold Schwarzenegger, despite being a Republican, also expressed support for Harris.
Recently, singer Cardi B, who made a public endorsement speech for Harris, posted on her social media (SNS) after seeing the vote count indicating Trump was likely to win the presidency, saying, "I hate yall bad." Along with this, she shared a video showing her covering her face with her hands, appearing disappointed.
The most notable star in the election was singer Taylor Swift, who commands a fandom of 300 million called the 'Swifties.' On the day Swift declared her support for Harris, the U.S. voter registration website saw over ten times the usual traffic, demonstrating her influence.
After the U.S. presidential debate broadcast, Taylor Swift posted on her official account, "I will vote for Kamala Harris because I believe she is a warrior who will fight for rights and causes and advocate for them." She added, "I think she is a stable and talented leader and believe she can achieve much more in this country. I was deeply moved and impressed by the choice of running mate Team Waltz, who has advocated for LGBTQ rights, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and women's rights to their own bodies for decades." This post received over 3.44 million likes within an hour of being posted, attracting significant attention.
In response, Trump told Fox News, "I was never a Taylor Swift fan," and said, "Swift always seems to support the Democrats, and maybe she will pay a price in the market."
In this election, Trump received support from actor Mel Gibson, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga's father Joe Germanotta, UFC president Dana White, Hulk Hogan, singer Lee Greenwood, professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, former NFL player Brett Favre, and UFC president Dana White. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, is considered one of his most enthusiastic supporters.
