KRX National Happiness Foundation and The Light Hands announced on the 6th that they held a donation ceremony for the '2024 KRX Cambodia Cow Bank Project' to support income increase and economic independence for impoverished families in Cambodia.

The foundation plans to newly select 25 impoverished farming households in the Battambang and Ratanak Mondol regions of Cambodia and support the Cow Bank Project for the next three years.
The 'KRX Cow Bank Project' is a sustainable income enhancement initiative that provides impoverished rural households with funds to purchase cows free of charge for three years, and upon completion of the support period, the loan is repaid and recycled to other households. This overseas social contribution project has been underway in Vietnam since 2018 and in Cambodia since last year.
Households receiving cows generate income through continuous calf births, which can be used for living expenses, children's education, and agricultural activities, thereby improving quality of life and establishing a foundation for economic independence.
Jung Eun-bo, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, stated, "I hope that impoverished farming residents in Cambodia will find an opportunity to foster their will and hope for independence through the KRX Cow Bank Project," and added, "The foundation will continue to spare no support to contribute to the economic independence and sustainable change of impoverished residents in underdeveloped countries."
