Noblesse Oblige Practiced in Person
At the regular general meeting and Hometown Night event of the Gyeongnam Haman-gun Jaegyeong Hometown Association, Chairman Cho Yong-seon of Yuchang announced on the 6th that he had donated 100 million won in scholarship funds to the Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation on the 5th to foster local talent.
On this day, Chairman Cho said, “I hope this small contribution will help hometown students grow into talented individuals who can realize their dreams and ideals and lead social development.”

In response, County Governor Cho Geun-je said, “We sincerely thank Chairman Cho Yong-seon for his love of his hometown, and the donation will be used valuably for scholarship projects for students.”
Born in Deokdae-ri, Gunbuk-myeon, Haman-gun, Chairman Cho Yong-seon has continued his philanthropic acts of love for his hometown, including donating funds to help neighbors in Gunbuk-myeon every Lunar New Year for over 40 years.
Following the donation of 100 million won in scholarship funds in 2023, he again donated 100 million won to the Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation this year, personally practicing noblesse oblige. Including this scholarship fund, he has donated a total of 309 million won to date, awarded scholarships totaling 12.7 million won to 40 students, and operates a special scholarship foundation named the ‘Songcheon Cho Yong-seon Special Scholarship Association’ under the Haman-gun Scholarship Foundation.
