Gwangju City Holds 2024 Yi-Tongjang Capacity Building Workshop

Mayor Bang Se-hwan: "Take the lead in regional development and play a pivotal role as a representative of the residents"

Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 6th that it held the '2024 Gwangju City Lee-Tongjang Capacity Building Workshop' on the 5th at Oak Valley Resort in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

About 300 people attended the workshop, including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, City Council Chairman Heo Kyung-haeng, Chairman of the Gwangju City Lee-Tongjang Council Park Ju-il, and Lee-Tongjangs from each eup, myeon, and dong. The event was organized as a time to encourage the hard work of Lee-Tongjangs who are fulfilling their duties for regional development and residents at the forefront of administration and to allow them to recharge.


Held in Wonju City, a neighboring city, the event included a tour of Sogeumsan Grand Valley, a famous autumn spot in Wonju, followed by communication training by instructor Lee Byung-jun in the afternoon.


At the subsequent ceremony, certificates of commendation were awarded to Lee-Tongjangs who contributed to the development of city administration and council activities, and during the dinner time, a singing contest among eup, myeon, and dong was held to foster harmony.


Park Ju-il, Chairman of the Lee-Tongjang Council, said, "I hope this Lee-Tongjang workshop will be an enjoyable and rewarding time for the Lee-Tongjangs who worked hard for the successful hosting of the 20th World Gwanak Conference and the bid for the 2026 Gyeonggi-do Comprehensive Sports Festival."


Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I hope this will be a time for Lee-Tongjangs, who serve at the forefront of administration for regional development, to communicate and harmonize," adding, "I hope they will continue to take the lead in regional development and play a pivotal role as representatives of the residents."
