Busan Office of Education to Promote 'Busan Education Development Special Zone Project' Nationwide

Operation of Local Era Expo Exhibition Hall... Four Themes Including Busan-Origin Integrated Neulbom and Public Education Change

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the ‘Busan Education Development Special Zone Exhibition Hall’ at the 2024 Korea Local Era Expo, held for three days from the 6th at Songam Sports Town in Chuncheon, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

The expo, held under the theme ‘Opening the Local Era Together, A Brightly Smiling Korea,’ serves as a platform to share policies and success stories of the local era with the public. It is jointly hosted by metropolitan and provincial offices of education, local governments, the Ministry of Education, and the Local Era Committee.

Busan Office of Education set up the Education Development Special Zone Exhibition Hall with four themes under the slogan ‘Beyond Busan, to the Center of Korean Education’: ▲ Busan-type Integrated Neulbom ▲ Busan-origin Public Education Change ▲ Digital Education Innovation ▲ Global Talent Development.

It focused on actively promoting excellent policies of the Busan Education Development Special Zone nationwide, such as the ‘Character and Academic Change Camp,’ the first academic change project implemented nationwide; ‘We Can Do Seasonal and Weekend Schools’; ‘Busan-type Internet Lectures’; and the nation’s first ‘Myeongji Neulbom Dedicated School,’ a second school.

Additionally, various experiential programs were prepared, including a Busan Education Development Special Zone quiz using a rotating cube and an SNS challenge with the Busan Office of Education’s character ‘Sean.’

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “This Local Era Expo will be a great opportunity to widely promote the major projects and achievements of the Busan Education Development Special Zone. Going forward, our office will concentrate all administrative efforts to ensure that children in Busan can grow and settle in Busan through public education alone.”
