Jeong Sin-ah, CEO of Kakao, refrained from commenting on the Securities and Futures Commission's (hereinafter SFC) plan for severe disciplinary action against Kakao Mobility, stating that she "understands it based on the reports in the media."

On the 6th, after the 'Ministry of Science and ICT-Platform Companies Meeting' held at the Korea Press Center in Seoul, CEO Jeong responded to reporters regarding the SFC's decision on the level of sanctions against Kakao Mobility (hereinafter Kamo) as follows.
The SFC is set to finalize the level of sanctions against Kamo in the afternoon concerning allegations of accounting fraud. The SFC is reported to have tentatively concluded that the accounting fraud allegations constitute 'gross negligence' and decided to impose a fine of 3.4 billion KRW on the company.
Previously, the Financial Supervisory Service reported to the Financial Services Commission that Kakao Mobility deliberately inflated sales from its affiliated taxi business ahead of its initial public offering (IPO) and proposed sanctions.
When asked if she had met with Kim Beom-su, Kakao's Chairman of the Management Innovation Committee, who was recently released, she replied, "I cannot comment." She also avoided specific remarks regarding the announcement of additional management innovation plans.
Meanwhile, at the meeting that day, Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, met with platform companies such as Naver, Kakao, Coupang, and Danggeun to discuss cooperative measures for mutual growth between platforms and small business owners. Kakao decided to strengthen the 'Project Danggol' program, which supports small business owners in creating loyal customers through digital transformation. Additionally, Kakao promised to increase the settlement frequency of gift exchange vouchers from 4 times to 10 times per month and to support KakaoTalk channel message sending costs up to 300,000 KRW per person.
