The Loop Reactor is a circulating reactor that polymerizes raw materials such as ethylene into polymers. It is considered a key piece of equipment in the polyethylene production process.
DL E&C safely lifted and installed the Loop Reactor using a main crane with a capacity of 1,350 tons and an auxiliary crane of 750 tons. Including the Loop Reactor, a total of 18 plant modules weighing 4,264 tons, transported from Vietnam, are also being installed on site.
GTPP is a project commissioned by Golden Triangle Polymers, a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical in the USA and Qatar Energy. It is a project to build a high-density polyethylene plant with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons, scheduled for completion in 2026.
DL E&C won the bid in July 2022 for its first petrochemical plant project in the USA and started construction in February last year. The project is being carried out jointly with the American construction company Zachry Industrial, and the current progress rate is approximately 55.5%.
