SBC Hosts Small Business Policy Forum to Commemorate 'Small Business Day'

The Small Enterprise and Market Service announced on the 6th that it held the 'Small Business Policy Forum' at the FKI Tower in Yeouido, Seoul, to commemorate Small Business Day (November 5).

Experts from various fields attended the forum held on the 5th, including Yang Suk-gyeong, head of the Policy Research Center at Small Enterprise and Market Service; Jeong Yu-shin, professor at Sogang University; Kim Mi-ru, research fellow at the Korea Development Institute (KDI); Lee Jeong-hee, professor at Chung-Ang University; Park Chung-ryeol, legislative researcher at the National Assembly Research Service; Pyeon Do-hoon, deputy director at the Bank of Korea; Seo Kyung-ran, head of the IBK Corporate Bank Economic Research Institute; and Ryu Pil-seon, specialist at the Federation of Small Businesses.

The experts attending the forum discussed the outlook for the future business environment following the recent base interest rate cut and shared opinions on financial policy directions.

The forum began with a keynote speech by Professor Jeong Yu-shin of Sogang University on the topic of 'Financial Conditions and Survival Strategies for Small Businesses.' This was followed by a presentation by Kim Mi-ru, research fellow at KDI, titled 'The Impact of Recent Macroeconomic Environmental Changes on Domestic Demand and the Business Environment of Small Businesses,' and then a free discussion involving experts from various fields took place.

Chairman Park Seong-hyo stated, “The opinions expressed at the forum will serve as an important foundation for exploring future policy directions for small businesses,” and added, “The Service will actively support small businesses, which are the backbone of the Korean economy, so that they can operate in a better business environment.”
