With morning temperatures dropping to around 5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, the first frost of the year was observed in Seoul. This is 2 days earlier than last year and 9 days later than the average.
The first frost of the year was observed in Seoul. Provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration.
On the 6th, the Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "Cold air is moving south from the north, and with clear weather overnight causing temperatures to drop, the first frost and first ice have been observed mainly in Seoul and the central inland areas."
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -2 and 8 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 10 and 16 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures will remain around 15 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, and strong winds will make the perceived temperature even colder.
There will be light rain at dawn along the west coast of Chungnam and the west coast of Jeolla. In the mid-mountainous areas of Jeju Island, raindrops less than 0.1 mm or snow less than 0.1 cm may fall. Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Sea waves will be 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea and South Sea coastal waters. In the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are predicted to be 1.5 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 3.0 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the South Sea.
