Opening of Youth Hangout at Nohae Sports Park... Supporting Healthy Youth Play Culture
Designed Reflecting Youth Interests with Multipurpose Room, PC Zone, Healthcare Zone, Photo and Music Studio
Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced the opening of the youth play culture facility 'Nohae Youth Agit.'
Nohae Youth Agit is the eighth youth agit established by the district. It was created on the first floor of a 132㎡ site within Nohae Sports Park, which recently began full-scale operation.
Within a 300m radius around the agit, there are six schools densely located, including Eulji Elementary, Sangmyeong Elementary, Eulji Middle, Sangmyeong Middle, Sanggye Middle, and Sangmyeong High. However, there was a lack of spaces where youths could sufficiently rest and socialize.
In response, the district conducted online and offline surveys targeting nearby students last April and completed the spatial arrangement and content composition tailored to meet the demands so that all youths, regardless of gender, could be satisfied.
First, Nohae Agit is designed with ▲a multipurpose room ▲PC zone ▲healthcare zone ▲photo and music studio. This design reflects youths' interests in K-POP, e-sports, and more. Each space is also equipped with various items such as board games, books, Nintendo consoles, and exercise equipment. The district plans to continuously discover various linked programs suitable for the characteristics of each space.
In the common hall, comfortable sofas and tables are arranged to allow simple eating and resting, and food items including snacks are sold.
The media wall installed on one side of the common hall is a core facility of Nohae Agit. A large LED display is installed on the outer wall of the dance room so that youths can watch K-POP performances, movies, or sports events as a group.
The agit is a space for youths and is open to all youths without reservation from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on Mondays when it is closed.
Currently, the district operates eight youth agits including Nohae Agit: ▲Kkumkkuneun (Wolgye 3-dong), ▲Kkeullim (Sanggye 6,7-dong), ▲Meetup Center (Wolgye 2-dong), ▲Oraksil (Junggye 2,3-dong), ▲Hakuna Matata (Sanggye 3,4-dong), ▲Chaoreum (Junggye 4-dong), and ▲Enter Agit (Wolgye 1-dong).
District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “There are still many insufficient spaces where youths can rest and engage in healthy activities within a 10-minute walk from home. We will continue to make various efforts for the more than 80,000 youths living in Nowon-gu.”
