Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) has launched the '2050 Hanam City Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee,' which is responsible for advising and deliberating on carbon neutrality policies, marking the official start of green growth efforts.

According to Hanam City on the 5th, the 2050 Hanam City Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee exchanged opinions and discussed greenhouse gas reduction targets and sector-specific policies to be reflected in the 'Carbon Neutral Green Growth Basic Plan (2025~2034)' at its first meeting held on the 4th in the city hall situation room.

The Hanam City Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee is a deliberative and decision-making body for greenhouse gas reduction, transition to a carbon-neutral society, and green growth policies to overcome the climate crisis. It is composed of a total of 18 members, including Vice Mayor Hwang Hak-yong of Hanam City as the ex officio chairman, climate and environmental experts, and other vice mayors.

Vice Mayor Hwang emphasized, “Through the carbon neutral green growth basic plan to be established by Hanam City, it is necessary to actively consider how citizens can naturally accept and practice green lifestyle activities,” adding, “The Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee will conduct various promotions and education to bring about changes in citizens’ awareness for realizing carbon neutrality.”
