Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency (Director Kang Sung-chun) announced on the 5th that they have launched the '2024 Export Company Logistics Cost Support Project' starting from the 4th.
This project is being initiated by the city for the first time this year to assist Uijeongbu export companies struggling due to the prolonged trade crisis caused by the sharp rise in international maritime freight rates.
The support targets small and medium-sized export manufacturing companies with headquarters or factories located in Uijeongbu.
Selected companies will receive support covering up to 70% of export logistics costs (domestic and international transportation fees) and sample shipping costs incurred since January of this year, with a maximum limit of 3 million KRW per company.
Within the support limit, there is no restriction on the number of applications, allowing companies to continuously benefit from the support.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “This support project will significantly help reduce the logistics cost burden for Uijeongbu’s export companies and enhance their competitiveness in the international (global) market. We will continue to promote various support projects to foster the growth of local companies.”
