Kakao Ventures, a venture capital (VC) specializing in ultra-early-stage startups, announced on the 5th that it will hold an online session titled “KV Insightful Day 2024: The Future Beyond Innovation” on the 19th.
KV Insightful Day is an event where Kakao Ventures’ investment analysts and experts from various fields share diverse perspectives on industries. This year, Kakao Ventures announced its vision as ‘Beyond VC’ with two strategic directions: Insightful and Going global. This Insightful Day is a platform to share the direction of becoming partners who grow together through knowledge-based discussions.
At the inaugural KV Insightful Day this year, presentations on industry trends and panel discussions will be held in three key investment areas of Kakao Ventures: service, deep tech, and digital healthcare.
The first session will be led by Hye-won Ahn, Senior Investment Analyst of Kakao Ventures’ Service Division, focusing on short-form (short video) dramas. The session will explore whether short-form dramas, which originated in China and have shown unprecedented growth, can become a new content standard in the ultra-early Korean market. Panelists Tae-won Kim, CEO of Mjet Family; Tae-hoon Park, CEO of Watcha; and Ki-hyun Kim, CEO of Kiwi Lab, will participate in the panel discussion to examine short-form dramas from various perspectives, including production, distribution, and monetization.
The second session will be led by Young-moo Kim, an analyst in charge of deep tech investments, discussing “AI Agents, Milestones Toward AGI (Artificial General Intelligence).” The session will cover the near future AI we will utilize. Panelists include Ji-hyuk Park, CEO of Waddle, which develops conversational AI agents, and Jae-min Shin, CEO of Trillion Labs, a Korean LLM (Large Language Model) developer.
The final session will be led by Ju-yeon Jung, a senior investment analyst specializing in obstetrics and gynecology and digital healthcare investments, with the theme “Generative AI, Becoming a Hospital’s Innovation Partner.” This session will examine the changes generative AI will bring to medical sites. Panelists include Woong Bae, CEO of Sumbit AI, and Soon-ho Yoon, Professor of Radiology at Seoul National University Hospital, who will explore the medical ecosystem impacted by generative AI during the panel discussion.
KV Insightful Day is open to anyone interested in the startup and investment ecosystem. The online session will be live-streamed on Kakao Ventures’ official YouTube channel, and the presentation content will be published later in the form of an e-book.
