Hapdeok Station on the Seohae Line connects Hongseong Station in Chungnam and Seohwaseong Station in Gyeonggi-do, operating four trains in each direction for a total of eight trips daily. The Seohae Circular Line, which circulates three times in each direction with Hongseong Station as its start and end point, also opened simultaneously.
Mayor Oh Seonghwan stated, "With the opening of Hapdeok Station on the Seohae Line, the era of railways has finally arrived in Dangjin, which had long been a railway wasteland. We expect significantly improved accessibility to the Seoul metropolitan area and major cities nationwide."
He added, "By establishing a diverse transportation system, we expect to positively impact the revitalization of tourism and the local economy in Dangjin, a central city of the west coast rich in historical and cultural tourism resources."
Meanwhile, to enhance transportation convenience for visitors to Dangjin, the city will operate a shuttle bus between Hapdeok Station and Hapdeok Terminal 14 times a day round-trip, in accordance with train schedules, starting November 2.
