Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 4th that it successfully conducted the 'University Campus Tour Towards the Future' program at Seoul National University Gwanak Campus on the 2nd with 115 students from grades 1 to 3 of middle schools in the district.
The 'University Campus Tour Towards the Future' was organized as part of the JUMP-UP Yangju I Project by the Yangju Career and Academic Support Center. It is a program where students visit a university and tour the campus with university student mentors, learning stories related to the school's history and receiving mentoring about careers and academic departments.
In this program held at Seoul National University Gwanak Campus, student mentors from various majors including Pre-Medicine, Interdisciplinary Studies, Physical Education, Materials Science and Engineering, Child and Family Studies, Sociology, and Architecture participated.
The mentors toured the campus with Yangju students and shared their university life experiences related to their respective majors, providing a meaningful time to encourage students to develop interest in their studies and nurture bigger dreams.
A student participant, Student A, said, "Seeing the older sisters and brothers attending Seoul National University made me want to come here too." Also, a parent, Mr. B, said, "I am grateful that this campus tour was a good opportunity for the children to envision their future dreams."
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, "I hope that through this university campus tour, students will reflect on their career paths and dream of a better future. Yangju City will do its best to support as a leading educational city for the future."
