On the 4th, Bang Se-hwan, Mayor of Gwangju City, participated in the relay campaign "Respect Children as They Are, Positive Parenting" to prevent child abuse.
This campaign, aimed at spreading awareness of positive parenting, has been promoted since May under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Child Rights Protection Agency. Participating institutions nominate the next participant, continuing the campaign until the 18th Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19).
Mayor Bang Se-hwan, who joined the relay campaign upon the nomination of Joo Kwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, said, "This campaign, promoted by our city which is firmly establishing itself as a child-friendly city, holds even greater significance," and added, "We will actively promote the spread of positive parenting that respects children as they are."
Mayor Bang Se-hwan nominated Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, and Noh Dong-yeol, Chief of Gwangju Police Station, as the next participants in the relay campaign.
Meanwhile, Gwangju City is implementing various child welfare projects to establish itself as a child-friendly city. It is also promoting the "Gwangju City Child Protection Da:Sup Project" to strengthen the child protection system, carrying out child abuse prevention initiatives targeting infants, staff, and parents in multiple areas.
