Yeonggwang-gun Holds 'Salt Expo' at Yeouido Hangang Park

210,000 Visitors to Cheonilyeom Well-being Experience Zone and Cafe

Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jang Se-il) announced on the 4th that it held a Salt Expo at the Hangang Citizens' Park event plaza in Yeouido, Seoul from the 1st to the 3rd.

Under the theme "SALT LIGHT, Sun-dried Salt is the Light of the World," the expo was co-hosted by Jeollanam-do, Yeonggwang-gun, and Sinan-gun. Approximately 210,000 domestic and international visitors attended the event, which featured a salt field children's playground, a sun-dried salt wellbeing experience zone, a sun-dried salt salting workshop, and a sun-dried salt caf?.

The county evaluated that this expo served as an opportunity to promote the excellence of Yeonggwang sun-dried salt and to confirm its infinite growth potential, including expanding its market channels worldwide.

Citizens who participated on-site said, "The children were very fascinated because they could touch and directly experience various types of salt as if they were on a picnic," and added, "It was great to experience a local festival in the heart of Seoul and also to purchase local specialty products."

Representatives from Bucksoo Salt Co., Ltd., a sun-dried salt production and processing company, and Haechang Sun-dried Salt, who participated in the Yeonggwang-gun promotional sales booth, also expressed their thoughts, saying, "Through participating in the expo, we not only promoted healthy and clean Yeonggwang sun-dried salt but also achieved sales beyond expectations."

A county official stated, "Sun-dried salt made from the Yeonggwang mudflats is an eco-friendly wellbeing salt with low salinity and high mineral content, giving it a rich umami flavor," and added, "We will continue to enhance the brand value of Yeonggwang sun-dried salt and support the development of various products so that the sun-dried salt industry can grow to the next level."
