On the 4th, at the 'SK AI Summit 2024' held at COEX in Seoul, when asked, "Do you think AI will soon surpass human intelligence?" he replied, "Briefly speaking, considering AGI, yes." The discussion was moderated by Lee Jun-pyo, CEO of SBVA, and was held under the theme of 'The Future of AI.'
Chairman Brockman stated, "The impact AI will have will be different from what you think," adding, "AI will bring changes to industrial productivity not by 2 to 3 times, but by 10 to 20 times."
He also acknowledged the impact AI will have on jobs. Brockman said, "It will vary by industry, but AI will enable the establishment of more companies by replacing manpower." This is because AI can reduce the workload of humans.
He continued, "Since it will be an era where people can live without working, they will be able to work in fields they are passionate about." He emphasized, "I believe a time will come when universal income allows people to live better than now, and instead of thinking about what the world will become, we should think about what kind of world we want to create."
Meanwhile, Chairman Brockman expressed respect for the Korean government's high interest in AI, saying, "I respect that," and added, "(The Korean government) understands the importance of the government's role, such as announcing a presidential AI committee."
