Participation in Forum Invited by Kazakh Government
Industry-Academia Cooperation and Global Talent Development
Dong-Eui University President Hansu Hwan, outgoing Vice President for External Affairs I Imgeon, and Director of International Exchange Bae Geumgwang visited Kazakhstan from October 13 to 20 to discuss ways to revitalize industry-academia cooperation and attract international students, and have returned home.

During this visit, which was made at the invitation of the Kazakhstan government (Ministry of Higher Education), President Hansu Hwan participated as a speaker at the “1st 2024 Connected International Forum” held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, hosted by the government, and gave a presentation on the theme of “Cooperation for Future Talent Development.”
President Hansu Hwan introduced the process of establishing a sister university exchange agreement between Dong-Eui University and Kostanay State University in Kazakhstan, the current state of cooperation, and presented support measures from the Kostanay Kia Motors plant and the government for industry-academia cooperation.
Since the Korea-Kazakhstan summit in June, Kazakhstan has been promoting economic and industrial development through all-round cooperation with Korea and hopes for close exchanges in talent development. Following his presentation, President Hansu Hwan and his delegation held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova to discuss strengthening industry-academia cooperation and global talent development.
In addition, President Hansu Hwan and his delegation visited Kostanay State University, a sister university of Dong-Eui University, to inspect the Sejong Institute established in July, and visited the Kostanay Kia Motors plant, which will begin production in the first half of next year, where they agreed to strengthen industry-academia cooperation and support for international students.
President Hansu Hwan of Dong-Eui University said, “Through revitalizing exchanges with Kazakhstan, we will support Kazakhstani students’ employment at local Korean companies and their advancement into Korea, and expand support for Dong-Eui University students from various majors to challenge and succeed on the global stage.”
