Jinju City Achieves Victory in Leisure Culture Category at the '2024 Korea Product Awards'

Recognized as a Tourism Product Representing the Republic of Korea in Academia

Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that the 'Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Center' was selected as the award-winning product in the leisure culture category at the "2024 Korea Product Awards" held at Sookmyung Women's University Sunheon Hall.

About 100 people attended the awards ceremony, including Cha Seok-ho, Deputy Mayor of Jinju, Moon Chan, President of the Korea Product Society, Seo Jae-young, Deputy County Governor of Muju County, and Seo Young-gu, Professor at Sookmyung Women's University.

Awarded in the Leisure Culture category at the "2024 Korea Product Awards" held at Sunheon Hall, Sookmyung Women's University, Jinju.

Deputy Mayor Cha, who received the grand prize in the leisure culture category, said, "This award is the result of Jinju City's efforts to globally expand Jinju K-Entrepreneurship. The Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Center has been recognized not only as an educational institution but also as a representative tourism product of Korea." He added, "Going forward, through projects such as the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship International Forum, the establishment of the National Entrepreneurship History Museum of Korea, and the creation of the International Youth Startup Village, we will transform Jisu-myeon area in Jinju into a central city for youth startups visited by people from all over the world."

Since being declared the Entrepreneurship Capital of Korea in 2018, Jinju City has been operating the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Center, established on March 29, 2022, to globally promote Jinju K-Entrepreneurship.

The Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Center has been evaluated as making a significant contribution to the development of leisure culture and revitalization of the local economy by spreading Jinju K-Entrepreneurship through various educational programs, experiential events, and K-Entrepreneurship content, attracting over 140,000 domestic and international visitors since its opening.

Meanwhile, the Korea Product Awards have been held by the Korea Product Society since 1997 to select and discover excellent products in Korea and promote their excellence worldwide by selecting outstanding products from leading domestic companies and local governments with international competitiveness.
