Taebaek City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Lee Sang-ho) has been holding the "9th Taebaek Tourism Photography National Contest Exhibition" at the Taebaek Coal Museum's special exhibition hall from November 1 to 17.

The photo is "Dazzling Taebaek" by Kim Jang-hyun, which won the grand prize. This exhibition is organized by the Taebaek branch of the Korea Photographers Association (Branch Chief Kim Do-hwan). From the end of August for one month, works featuring Taebaek's tourist resources and natural scenery, Taebaek's history, festivals, culture, and the coal industry were submitted.

The photo is "Birch Forest" by Lee Da-young, which won the silver prize. Among a total of 421 works, the awards were judged as follows: Gold Prize (Dazzling Taebaek, Lee Jang-hyun), Silver Prize (Birch Forest, Lee Da-young), Silver Prize (Gumunso Glasses, Choi Hee-soo), Bronze Prize (Sunflower, Lee Min-woo), Bronze Prize (Cheonje Festival, Hyun Yoon-gi), and 53 other works, totaling 58 awarded pieces.

A Taebaek city official stated, "Through the Taebaek Tourism Photography National Contest Exhibition, visitors will be able to feel the unique beauty and dynamism of Taebaek," and added, "We hope many citizens and tourists will show interest and participate so that the feelings evoked by the photographs can be experienced as real emotions when seeing the actual works."
