Belonging to the Atmospheric Environment Remote Sensing Laboratory (Advisor: Professor Noh Young-min) of the Department of Environmental Engineering at National Pukyong National University, they received their awards at the conference held from October 23 to 25 at Jeju Shinhwa World.
Doctoral student Shim Joo-hyun was recognized for the excellence of two presentations: “Development of Atmospheric Aerosol Type Classification Method Based on AE, AER, MEE for Atmospheric Phenomena Using Image Data,” presented at the 2023 Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment Annual Conference’s Special Session for Fine Dust Specialized Graduate Schools, and “Study on Changes in Atmospheric Factors during Fog Occurrence Using Images and Simulations,” presented at the 2024 Student Colloquium, earning two Excellent Presentation Awards.
Meanwhile, master’s student Yoon Ji-hyun received the Encouragement Award at this conference for the study titled “Research on Regional Mass Scattering Efficiency Characteristics Using Lidar Observation Data.”
The conference featured a total of 593 research presentations and discussions, including 225 poster presentations and 368 oral presentations, including those by students from National Pukyong National University.
Advisor Noh Young-min said, “It seems that the students’ achievements in conducting various applied research closely related to the conference theme, ‘Risk-Based Atmospheric Environment Management,’ were recognized.”
