Woojin to Participate in AMXPO 2024... Introducing Data-Driven Smart Factory Solution 'Honeycomb'

Advanced measurement instrument specialist Woojin announced on the 4th that it participated in the ‘2024 Asia Machinery & Manufacturing Industry Exhibition AMXPO’ (formerly Korea Industry Fair) from the 30th of last month to the 2nd.

Held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, AMXPO 2024 was expanded from the existing Korea Industry Fair, focusing on three key themes: carbon neutrality, digital transformation (DX), and artificial intelligence (AI) convergence.

At this exhibition, Woojin introduced its smart factory solution ‘Honeycomb,’ developed based on the technology and experience accumulated through its precision measurement instrument business.

Honeycomb, developed by Woojin, is a comprehensive solution that supports overall decision-making necessary for production operations in companies, based on data, including △production planning △material tracking △performance aggregation △quality control. After three years of research and development, Woojin launched Honeycomb last year, consisting of a manufacturing execution system (MES) platform and four expansion modules. This year, it successfully secured its first client and delivered the product.

Through AMXPO 2024, Woojin launched for the first time the new models of the manufacturing execution system essential for digital transformation in manufacturing sites: ‘honeycomb MES Core’ and ‘honeycomb MES Extended.’ These newly released models are low-cost versions of the existing Honeycomb, designed to enable small and medium-sized manufacturing companies to achieve digital transformation on the manufacturing floor with affordable investment costs.

A Woojin representative said, “The newly introduced MES was developed for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies aiming to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness through digital transformation of manufacturing sites, significantly lowering the initial MES adoption cost,” adding, “This is Woojin’s effort to ensure that small and medium-sized manufacturers are not left behind amid the major changes sweeping through industrial sites such as digital transformation and smart factories.”

He also stated, “Digital transformation is now a core driving force enabling manufacturing innovation beyond simple process automation,” and “Participating in this exhibition was a meaningful opportunity to showcase the excellence of Honeycomb to companies in need of digital transformation.” He continued, “We will continue to promote Honeycomb’s excellence in the market and expand our market presence through the development of more competitive products.”
