His agency, JYP Entertainment, announced on the 4th that Park Jin-young will make a comeback with a new digital single titled "Easy Lover" and its title track "Easy Lover (Say It's Not True)." This new release comes about a year after "Changed Man," which was released in November 2023, and is drawing attention as Park Jin-young's new masterpiece commemorating his 30th anniversary this year.
Since his debut in 1994, Park Jin-young has solidified his status as a "Living Legend" with his unique and groundbreaking music and performances. "Easy Lover (Say It's Not True)" is a modern soul-funk genre song that combines the blues elements seen in Park Jin-young's signature tracks like "Eomeonimi Nugu-ni" and "Honey" with the major key musical sensibilities felt in "Nal Tteonajima" and "Neoppuniya." The verses utilize blues scales, while the chorus employs major scales to create a soulful emotion alongside bright and exciting energy. The lyrics express a love that cannot be stopped despite warnings from those around, falling for someone one should not meet. The addictive chorus and energetic sound emphasize the song's atmosphere.
Along with the new song release, Park Jin-young, who has always drawn attention with interesting stories and casting in his music videos, has prepared a dazzling cast and viewing points this time as well. The music video for the new song has stirred interest by previewing the acting chemistry between Park Jin-young and actors Cha Ju-young and Lee Yi-kyung through previously released teaser content. The teaser evokes curiosity about the relationship among the three in a noir film-like atmosphere, increasing anticipation for the full music video.
Following the buzz around the music video, Park Jin-young will hold a solo concert titled "Still JYP" at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, from December 27 to 29 to celebrate his 30th anniversary since debut. Having delighted fans every year with unique year-end performances such as "Bad Party," he will share meaningful moments with the audience this year as well through "Still JYP."
This year, Park Jin-young has showcased various activities. In September, during the Chuseok special KBS 2TV grand project "Ddan Ddara JYP," he presented his solid 30-year music history live as a singer and Asia's top producer, captivating viewers with joint stages featuring K-pop representative artists he personally produced. Starting from the 3rd, he has been meeting domestic and international viewers as a judge on KBS 2TV's new audition program "The Ddan Ddara," which seeks versatile and talented entertainers in the industry. "The Ddan Ddara" airs every Sunday at 9:20 PM.
Park Jin-young's new digital single "Easy Lover" and its title track "Easy Lover (Say It's Not True)" will be officially released at 6 PM on the 4th.
