[Click eStock] "Doosan Enerbility Benefits from Nuclear Power Plant Order Rally Originating in Europe and the Middle East"

On the 4th, IM Securities predicted that Doosan Enerbility will become the biggest beneficiary of nuclear power plant orders originating from Europe and the Middle East. Doosan Enerbility manufactures and supplies most of the key equipment and components for nuclear power plants.

Lee Sang-heon, an analyst at IM Securities, stated, "The Czech government has finalized plans to construct the second unit of the Dukovany nuclear power plant and selected Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) as the preferred negotiator, with a final contract expected by March next year." He added, "Doosan Enerbility is expected to secure orders not only for primary system key equipment such as reactors, steam generators, and cooling pumps but also for secondary system key equipment like steam turbines through its local subsidiary Doosan ?koda Power, and will participate in some construction projects as well."

The analyst also noted, "The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is likely to pursue projects for the 5th and 6th units of the Barakah nuclear power plant following the success of units 1 through 4." He continued, "In the Netherlands, plans are underway to build two new nuclear power plants, with bidding scheduled for next year and construction expected to start in 2028." Accordingly, he forecasted, "Large-scale nuclear power plant orders will accelerate in Europe and the Middle East over the next five years," and predicted that "Doosan Enerbility could secure orders for more than 10 nuclear power plants."

He explained, "Westinghouse, the world's largest nuclear power company, has constructed nuclear power plants in the United States and China using the AP1000 reactor, with Doosan Enerbility supplying key equipment such as steam generators." He added, "As AP1000-based nuclear power plant construction increases, orders from Westinghouse are expected to continue."

Furthermore, he said, "Doosan Enerbility has established a foundation to supply major equipment for small modular reactors (SMRs) by investing in NewScale Power, the largest SMR company in the United States." He predicted, "With the visibility of orders for 62 modules over the next five years, Doosan Enerbility could emerge as a global SMR foundry."
