The '2024 Yeongju Market Day Agricultural Specialties Festival,' where you can experience agricultural specialties infused with the pure energy of Sobaeksan Mountain, is ongoing from the 1st to the 3rd at Seocheon Munjeong Riverside.
Starting on the 26th of last month with the operation of an apple sales booth at the Buseoksa Lawn Plaza, this festival has received great responses with diverse programs such as Nanta performances, tourist singing contests, and apple peeling competitions, alongside agricultural products like Yeongju apples and Shine Muscat grapes.
Park Nam-seo, mayor of Yeongju City, is delivering a congratulatory speech at the Singsing Concert, an event linked to the Grand Festival of Agricultural and Specialty Products.
From the 1st, Munjeong Riverside is attracting visitors with a wider variety of representative Yeongju agricultural specialties, food, performances, and hands-on experiences.
Held under the theme "Selling Sincerity, Buying Devotion," this festival involves producers directly participating in the sale of agricultural products, providing trustworthy and excellent agricultural specialties. In particular, it is expected to greatly contribute not only to increasing farmers' income but also to revitalizing the local economy by promoting various outstanding agricultural specialties produced in Yeongju nationwide.
At the Munjeong Riverside event site, a Farm Farm sales booth operates where visitors can purchase agricultural products at reasonable prices through direct transactions with farmers, and promotional videos of agricultural specialties and live festival scenes are vividly delivered via a large electronic display board.
On the 1st, the 'Bountiful Harvest Celebration' featured a flag procession involving townships and agricultural organizations, reflecting on the festival's meaning of unity for all.
At 7 p.m., the celebratory performance lit up the stage with popular singers such as Dynamic Duo, Nataejoo, and Signature, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that beautifully decorated the opening night. On the 2nd, singer Danbi performed, and on the 3rd, Park Guyoon's performance further heated up the festival atmosphere.
Mayor Park Nam-seo of Yeongju said, "This festival is a special opportunity to directly meet and purchase Yeongju's representative agricultural specialties in one place," adding, "The Buseoksa apple sales booth will also continue until the 3rd, so we hope visitors enjoy the autumn foliage of Sobaeksan and the ambiance of Buseoksa and visit the festival to experience the charm of Yeongju's agricultural specialties."
