Gyeongbuk Development Corporation Freezes Rent for Kolon Haneulchae Public Rental Housing in Provincial Government New Town

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jae-hyuk) announced on the 3rd that it has frozen the 2024 rent for Kolon Haneulchae, a public rental housing located in Andong City’s provincial government new town, to alleviate the burden of housing costs faced by residents amid economic downturns such as rising prices and a sluggish domestic economy.

Considering the housing cost burden on vulnerable groups, Gyeongbuk Development Corporation has frozen rental deposits and rents for four years since the initial move-in in 2020. This was an unprecedented support measure compared to other public rental housing supplied by Gyeongbuk Development Corporation. They stated that, using the Kolon Haneulchae case as a reference, they will discover various support measures for residents and apply them to other public rental housing as well.
