Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 1st that it held the 'Pocheon City Tourism Souvenir Contest' to discover and foster tourism souvenirs reflecting the region's characteristics and identity, selecting six outstanding works.
A total of 55 design works were submitted to this contest, and the city selected 29 physical works as candidates for judging. Afterward, through the review by the Pocheon City Tourism Product Review Committee and additional verification procedures, six final outstanding works were chosen.
The silver prize was awarded to the 'Pocheon 9 Scenic Mini Tile Magnet Set,' representing nine major tourist spots in Pocheon, and the 'Cheonjuho Jewelry Box,' inspired by Cheonjuho in Pocheon Art Valley, a former abandoned quarry.
The bronze prizes went to four works: the 'Pocheon Hantangang Columnar Jointing Trail Handkerchief,' the 'Makkgeolli-themed Makkkeullineun Bread,' the 'Pocheon Icon Pin Button and Magnet,' and the 'Pocheon Bidulginang Waterfall Cycle Set.'
Vice Mayor Kim Jong-hoon expressed gratitude to the participants who submitted excellent works that well captured Pocheon's identity, stating, "We will actively promote so that tourists visiting Pocheon can revisit through souvenirs."
