The Chinese government announced on the 1st that it will include South Korea in the list of visa-exempt countries starting from the 8th. The exemption period will last until December 31 of next year.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Lin Zhen stated on the same day, "To further promote people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries, we are expanding the list of visa-exempt countries."
In addition to South Korea, the countries newly added to the visa exemption list include Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and others, totaling nine countries, and the exemption applies to holders of ordinary passports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "Holders of ordinary passports from these countries can enter China without a visa for visits of up to 15 days for business, tourism, or visiting relatives and friends."
