Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, is delivering a greeting at the '18th 6·25 War Veterans Monument Construction Ceremony.' The Korea War Veterans Association Gyeonggi-do Branch Yangju City Chapter (Chairman Hong Hyun-joo) held the '18th Korea War Veterans Memorial Monument Establishment Ceremony' on the 1st in front of the Korea War Veterans Memorial Monument at Haneulmul Park, Goeup-dong.
The Korea War Veterans Memorial Monument was erected in 2013 at Haneulmul Park in Goeup-dong to honor the noble spirit of sacrifice and patriotism of the veterans who participated in the Korean War, dedicating their youthful lives to protect the homeland, nation, and liberal democracy, and to serve as a model for future generations.
About 100 people attended the ceremony, including Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun, Yangju City Council Chairman Yoon Chang-chul, members of the Korea War Veterans Association, and members of veterans' organizations. The event proceeded in the order of opening, introduction of guests, national ceremony, flower offering and incense burning, congratulatory speeches, and group photo.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju said, “The Republic of Korea exists today thanks to the noble sacrifices of the Korea War veterans present here,” and added, “Inspired by the sacrifice and courage of the Korea War veterans who gave their lives for the country, I will do my best for the development of Yangju City.”
