Police Launch Internal Investigation into Embezzlement Allegations at 'Triple Star' Restaurant

The police have initiated a pre-indictment investigation regarding Chef TripleStar (real name Kang Seung-won), who is suspected of embezzling restaurant funds.


The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 1st that they have started an internal investigation into allegations of embezzlement (misappropriation of business funds) involving TripleStar, who allegedly diverted some of the restaurant's funds. TripleStar is a chef who gained popularity by appearing on the cooking survival program 'Black and White Chef.'

The previous day, an online community, DC Inside, posted a message stating, "There was a revelation from TripleStar's ex-wife," claiming that "the ex-wife alleges that TripleStar sent some of the restaurant funds to his parents, which was discovered late and led to their divorce."


The poster also stated, "Accordingly, a request for investigation into TripleStar's embezzlement charges was submitted to the Gangnam Police Station through the National Police Agency's online complaint system."


The police plan to verify the basic facts and investigate whether TripleStar actually embezzled the restaurant funds.
