Up to 1 Million KRW per Session... Support Available Twice per Couple
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 1st that it will provide financial support for assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures using frozen eggs. Even before an infertility diagnosis, if ART is performed using frozen eggs preserved for fertility preservation purposes to achieve pregnancy and childbirth, part of the costs will be supported.
The support targets those without an infertility diagnosis by partially covering the costs from thawing frozen eggs to fresh embryo in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures during ART. For those diagnosed with infertility, the thawing fee for frozen eggs will be supported.
Support is available up to twice per couple, with a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW per procedure. Couples without an infertility diagnosis who wish to receive support must submit the required documents to the local public health center within three months after completing the procedure at a designated infertility medical institution.
The required documents include ▲Application form for support of ART using frozen eggs ▲One copy of resident registration certificate ▲One copy of health insurance qualification verification ▲Copy of consent form for cryopreservation of reproductive cells (eggs) ▲Medical opinion on the freezing and thawing methods of the relevant reproductive cells ▲Claim form and procedure confirmation ▲Receipt of procedure fees and a copy of the bankbook.
However, infertile couples or couples in de facto marriage seeking support for ART using frozen eggs can claim the procedure fees after completing the procedure by obtaining a decision notice for infertility couple procedure fee support.
