12 'Yeollin Childcare Centers' Re-selected... Total 34 Centers Operating
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) reselected 12 open daycare centers and newly selected 6 centers on the 1st to create a safe childcare environment and issued designation certificates.
Open daycare centers are a type of daycare operation where the physical space of the daycare is open, and parents participate regularly in childcare programs and daycare operations. This goes beyond parents trusting and entrusting their children with peace of mind; it is a daycare center where parents communicate together and actively participate.
The city confirmed whether the daycare centers that applied for open daycare met detailed criteria such as openness, participation, sustainability, diversity, and excellent program operation, reselecting 12 centers and adding 6 new centers. Currently, more than half of the 62 daycare centers in the jurisdiction, totaling 34 centers, have been designated as open daycare centers.
The newly and re-designated open daycare centers will be designated and operated for three years starting this year, and various benefits will be provided, including priority support for teaching materials and supplies, scoring and additional points when newly selecting public daycare centers, and scoring and additional points during national and public re-commissioning evaluations.
Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon City stated, “I hope that more open and parent-participatory daycare centers like open daycare centers will expand further, and we will do our best to create a childcare environment where children and parents can feel safe and happy.”
