Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 1st that it will conduct the "2024 Household and Housing Basic Survey" together with the Statistics Korea from the 8th to the 27th.
The Household and Housing Basic Survey, which began in 2014, is conducted to improve the accuracy of the "Population and Housing Census" (20% sample survey) by establishing accurate survey districts and sample extraction frames. It is conducted every five years in the year prior to the Population and Housing Census.
This Household and Housing Basic Survey will investigate 14 items, including ▲type of residence ▲vacancy status ▲presence of rooftop rooms or (semi-)basements ▲total number of rooms ▲number of residential facilities.
Surveyors will carry tablets and visit all households and residences (including vacant houses) in the jurisdiction, except for apartments built between 5 and less than 30 years ago, to verify or conduct household interviews directly.
A city official said, "We ask for active participation and cooperation when surveyors carrying identification cards visit, so that the Household and Housing Basic Survey, which will serve as the foundation for national policy-making such as housing welfare policies, can be carried out smoothly within the period."
