Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Tae-sang) announced that students from the K-Beauty Skin & Nail Department, K-Beauty Health Department, and Beauty Department won the highest award, the ‘Busan Mayor’s Award,’ in seven categories at the ‘2024 Busan Mayor’s Cup Skin Beauty Skills Competition’ held at BEXCO from October 29 to 30.
Hosted by Busan City and organized by the Busan Branch of the Korea Skin Beauty Association Central Committee, this competition is the only beauty contest hosted by Busan City, with a total of 158 participants competing in 22 categories across high school, university, and general divisions.
Gyeongnam Information University had 59 participants in total, including 27 in the university division and 32 in the general division, winning the highest award, the Busan Mayor’s Award, in seven categories such as facial care, abdominal care, posterior body (back) care, eyelash extension, and hair removal.
Additionally, they received numerous awards including the National Assembly Member Award, the Korea Skin Beauty Association Central Committee President’s Award, the Busan Branch President’s Award, as well as gold, silver, and bronze medals in various categories.
Kim Kyung-mi, head of the K-Beauty Health Department, said, “For 14 years, Gyeongnam Information University has been the only CIDESCO school in Busan certified for education, dedicated to nurturing beauty experts equipped with international standard job competencies. We especially find it meaningful that many adult learners balancing work and studies received awards.”
