Presentation on Spatiotemporal Feature Applied LLM-Based Ultrafine Dust Time Series Forecasting
Seungwoo Lee and Duhyun Kim, fourth-year students in the Department of Industrial Management and Big Data Engineering at Dong-Eui University, won the Gold Prize at the "20th Korea University Student Industrial Engineering Project Competition" held on October 24 at the Seoul Science and Technology Convention Center.
At this competition hosted by the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers, Seungwoo Lee and Duhyun Kim presented a project titled "LLM-based Ultrafine Dust Time Series Prediction Applying Spatial Characteristics," which demonstrated improved accuracy and efficiency in ultrafine dust prediction compared to previous methods. They received the second-place Gold Prize along with a certificate and a prize of 500,000 KRW.
Seungwoo Lee and Duhyun Kim stated, "This research applied data collected over two years, and we plan to continue expanding the scope of application to various fields such as crop yield prediction by utilizing larger datasets, aiming to conduct research that can be helpful in everyday life."
The "20th Korea University Student Industrial Engineering Project Competition" was held to propose solutions to problems faced by companies and society through the application and execution of industrial engineering education. After the first round of judging, the top 20 teams were selected, and among them, the top 10 teams gave presentations. One Grand Prize team, one Gold Prize team, two Silver Prize teams, and six Bronze Prize teams were chosen.
