Dongseo University, 22nd Asia University Presidents Forum Concludes

Unanimous Approval of the Asian Union University

Next Year to be Held at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, China

The 22nd Asian University Presidents Forum, attended by 50 universities from 14 countries, successfully concluded at 11 a.m. on the 1st at the Sohyang Musical Theater on the Centum Campus of Dongseo University.

Dongseo University, 22nd Asia University Presidents Forum Concludes Dongseo University is holding the 22nd Asia University Presidents Forum and taking a commemorative photo.

The 22nd Asian University Presidents Forum was held at Dongseo University from October 30 to November 1, where higher education leaders from various Asian countries engaged in passionate discussions about the future.


The theme of the 2024 AUPF (Asian University Presidents Forum) was "Strategic Alliance Among Asian Universities in Higher Education."


Through this year’s forum, concrete measures to realize a new paradigm of cross-border higher education institutions were discussed. Asian higher education leaders agreed on various forms of cooperative programs to respond to the rapidly changing higher education environment.


They also agreed to launch the Asia Alliance University to establish a cooperative system among Asian universities through the development of an open online education platform and sharing of educational content, and pledged active participation through a signing ceremony for this purpose.


The closing ceremony proceeded in the order of adopting the AUPF Busan Declaration, a thank-you speech by President Jang Je-guk, the handover of the AUPF flag to the host university for 2025, greetings from the 2025 host university, closing remarks, and commemorative photos. The 2024 Asian University Presidents Forum Busan Declaration announced at the closing ceremony resolved to build a platform to promote practical exchange and cooperation that can strengthen collaboration among universities from various Asian countries in this era of connection and cooperation among Asian universities.


In particular, the Asia Alliance University proposed by Dongseo University at this forum was unanimously approved, and many Asian universities expressed their intention to participate. From 2025, detailed operational plans and reviews of national regulations will be conducted, aiming to start operations in the second half of 2025.


President Jang Je-guk of Dongseo University stated, “It is meaningful to respond to the rapidly changing higher education environment and to build a new platform through the alliance of Asian universities.”
