Guri City Achieves Governor's Award at Gyeonggi Village Community Festival

Awarded the Inspiring Village Prize to Yeonhap Village Community (Gagahoho, Nanudam, Ultari, 21st Century Volunteer Club)

On the 29th of last month, at the '2024 Gyeonggi Village Community Festival' held at the new building of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, the 'Guri City United Community' received the Gyeonggi Governor's Award, the Inspiring Village Award, for outstanding activity cases.

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 1st that the 'Guri City United Community' received the Governor of Gyeonggi Province Award, the Inspiring Village Award, at the '2024 Gyeonggi Village Community Festival' held at the new building of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office on the 29th of last month.

The '2024 Gyeonggi Village Community Festival' featured 20 teams selected through the first round of document screening from 57 village communities recommended by 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province. These teams presented and shared their activity cases, and the top 10 communities were awarded the Governor's Award based on on-site presentations.

The Guri City United Community consists of four groups selected in the 2024 Village Community Resident Proposal Contest (Gagahoho, Nanudam, Ultari, 21st Century Volunteer Club). They have actively conducted community activities for vulnerable groups in the region by establishing cooperative measures to solve social problems caused by the increase in single-person households, providing support consulting for beneficiaries, and building a public-private cooperation system with the Guri City Community Social Economy Support Center.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “This achievement, made possible by the warm hearts and efforts for the village, will serve as a shining example for the city’s local community,” and added, “I hope that we will continue to create better villages together through the power of cooperation.”
