In Songpa-gu, Seoul, a vehicle driven by a driver in their 70s crossed the center line and crashed into a restaurant, injuring a total of four people, including the driver and pedestrians.
On the 1st, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that a woman in her 70s, identified as Ms. A, was booked on charges of violating the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling (injury).
At around 8:53 a.m. that day, Ms. A was driving a vehicle in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, when she crossed the center line and invaded the opposite sidewalk. In the process, a male motorcyclist in his 40s and two male pedestrians in their 70s sustained minor injuries.
As Ms. A’s vehicle crashed onto the sidewalk, a nearby restaurant suffered some property damage, including broken windows and a refrigerator.
It was confirmed that Ms. A was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. It is also known that she did not claim sudden unintended acceleration.
A police official stated, "We plan to investigate the specific and detailed cause of the accident."
