This event is held in conjunction with Busan UN Week (10.24?11.11), hosted by Busan City, and about 1,000 participants from Busan citizens and three local volunteer organizations will join. Participants will walk 2.2 km around the UN Peace Culture Special Zone, honoring the dedication of the 22 UN member countries (16 combat, 6 medical) that fought together to protect the freedom of the Republic of Korea during the Korean War.
The UN Peace Memorial Hall Family Supporters, UN Peace Volunteers of the UN Memorial Park in Korea, and Busan UN Supporters will start from the UN Peace Memorial Hall and walk a course passing Busan Cultural Center, the UN Memorial Park in Korea, the UN Sculpture Park, and Peace Park, returning to the memorial hall, reflecting on the meaning of the peace preserved 74 years ago.
At the symbolic area of the UN Memorial Park in Korea, participants will hold a chrysanthemum each and have a memorial moment to honor the noble sacrifice of the veterans.
The send-off ceremony will be attended by Park Soo-young, member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party (Busan Nam-gu), and Seo Jeong-in, director of the UN Memorial Park in Korea Management Office. After the completion of the walk, various experience booths introducing the 22 UN member countries that participated in the war will be operated at the memorial hall.
