Samjong KPMG Hosts Seminar on Accounting and Tax Issues in Pharmaceutical and Bio Industries

Samjong KPMG announced on the 1st that it will give a lecture on accounting and tax issues in the pharmaceutical and bio industry at a seminar hosted by the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association.

The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association will hold the "2024 Pharmaceutical and Bio Accounting and Tax Issues Trends and Case Analysis Accounting Seminar" at 2 p.m. on the 4th at the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association Auditorium in Bangbae-dong, Seoul. Experts from Samjong KPMG will serve as speakers and deliver lectures on accounting and tax issues related to the pharmaceutical and bio industry.

This seminar was organized to enhance the overall industry's responsiveness to accounting and tax matters in the pharmaceutical and bio industry, covering ▲ recent trends in accounting and ESG standards ▲ tax audits and implications through case analysis.

The first session will be led by Sanghoon Park, Partner at Samjong KPMG, who will explain key accounting issues including audit findings, financial authorities' key inspection points, IFRS 18 amendments, and the introduction of XBRL disclosure, as well as analyze the impact on the pharmaceutical and bio sector following the adoption of KSSB disclosure standards under the theme "Analysis of Recent Trends in Accounting and ESG Standards."

Following this, Eunyeong Choi, Partner at Samjong KPMG, will share recent tax audit selection criteria analysis and tax audit cases involving pharmaceutical and bio companies under the theme "Tax Audits and Implications through Case Analysis."

Meanwhile, the seminar is intended for accounting and legal officers of member companies of the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association, and participants can register on the association’s website.
