Seongdong-gu, Apparel Sewing Marketing Training... Smooth from Production to Sales!

From November 8, 4-week SNS Marketing Training Including Short-Form Content Creation Every Friday at Seongdong Smart Fashion Center
Lectures Designed to Enable Direct Posting and Sales of Produced Products on SNS, Expecting Enhanced Sewing Skills and Market Expansion Effects

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that from November 8, a four-week marketing education program utilizing social network services (SNS) will be conducted to strengthen the capabilities of sewing workers and revitalize the sewing industry.

The district operates various specialized sewing workforce training programs every year, including hand pattern training, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) training, and special equipment repair training. This year, new programs such as CAD pattern training and marketing education using social network services (SNS) for local garment sewing workers will be introduced.

The education will take place every Friday from November 8 to 29 at the Seongdong Smart Fashion Center (Wangsimni-ro 21na-gil 5, 4th floor). Park Su-hwa, CEO of the small business specialized education institution "5 Second Ads," will serve as the instructor to enhance marketing capabilities, including understanding SNS and creating short-form content.

In particular, by educating participants to directly post the products they produce on social network services (SNS) and proceed to sales in a one-stop process, it is expected to have a positive effect on developing sales channels in the sewing market.

The district is recruiting up to 20 sewing workers and related job seekers or entrepreneurs on a first-come, first-served basis until November 6. Applications can be made through the quick reservation system on the Seongdong-gu Office website.

Meanwhile, since April 2021, the district has been operating the Seongdong Smart Fashion Center as a space supporting startups and collaboration for small fashion and sewing businesses. In November last year, the facility was expanded and relocated from Wangsimni Doseon-dong to Haengdang-dong.

The relocated Seongdong Smart Fashion Center is equipped with a shared cutting room supporting automatic cutting, a multipurpose space for exhibitions, sales, and education, and a creative studio with product photography facilities, playing a key role as a hub for startups and collaboration in the fashion and sewing fields.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “This marketing education for sewing workers is expected to greatly help not only in strengthening sewing capabilities but also in revitalizing the sewing market. We will continue to make multifaceted efforts for the development of the sewing industry, including operating high-quality education programs and smartifying garment manufacturing.”
