Joo Won has been officially appointed as the new CEO of Sangsangin Securities.
On the morning of the 31st, Sangsangin Securities held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at the headquarters of Sangsangin Savings Bank located in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, where the appointment of Joo Won as an inside director was approved. Immediately after the extraordinary shareholders' meeting, the board of directors convened and appointed Mr. Joo as CEO. His term will last for two years, until October 2026.
Mr. Joo, born in 1963, graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration and earned an MBA from New York University’s Graduate School of Business. He began his career at Ssangyong Investment & Securities (now Shinhan Investment Corp.), served as Executive Director at Kiwoom Securities, and Managing Director at Eugene Investment & Securities. From 2009 to 2013, he was CEO of KTB Investment & Securities (now Daol Investment & Securities), and from 2017 until March of this year, he served as CEO of Heungkuk Securities.
A representative from the Sangsangin Securities board stated, "CEO Joo has extensive experience across the financial industry, and we unanimously agreed that he is the right candidate with the qualifications and capabilities to lead Sangsangin Securities. Not only does he possess outstanding expertise in the securities business, but he also has profound insight and understanding of ESG management overall, making him the ideal next leader to successfully drive Sangsangin Securities’ sustainable growth."
CEO Joo said, "To achieve sustainable growth, I will continuously improve operational efficiency and focus all capabilities on enhancing Sangsangin Securities’ unique competitiveness, while faithfully fulfilling the core roles of a securities firm, including corporate finance (IB). I will do my best to earn trust and recognition of value in the market."
