Hongcheon County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Shin Young-jae) announced that the Hongcheon Volunteer Society of the Korean Red Cross Gangwon Province Branch (President Kim Kyung-ja) held a kimchi-making and goods-sharing event on the 31st for 80 households of elderly living alone and vulnerable groups.

The Hongcheon Volunteer Society received support of napa cabbages and radishes grown by Kwon Sang-cheol, CEO of Hongcheon Churera, and the volunteers personally harvested the cabbages and radishes from the field, prepared the ingredients, and made kimchi, which was delivered along with 80 boxes of ramen to elderly living alone and other vulnerable households.
The Hongcheon Volunteer Society actively spreads positive influence through regular volunteer activities such as cooking at welfare centers, life-love guardian activities, lunchbox delivery, and donation and delivery of goods to welfare blind spots.

President Kim Kyung-ja said, “I am grateful to the volunteers of the Hongcheon Volunteer Society who have been steadily caring for neighbors in need and practicing neighborly love for 63 years since 1961,” and added, “I hope that the marginalized neighbors can spend the winter healthily.”
