'Festival of Participation and Communication'... Incheon Resident Autonomy Expo to be Held on the 2nd of Next Month

The '2024 Incheon Resident Autonomy Expo' will be held on the 2nd of next month at Wolmido Culture Street.

Held for the first time in two years, this expo, themed 'A World of Resident Autonomy Connected as One,' is hosted by Incheon City and organized by the Incheon Resident Autonomy Association. Approximately 5,000 people, including general citizens and 156 township, town, and neighborhood resident autonomy committee members, are expected to attend.

This event provides an opportunity to share resident autonomy activities from Incheon's 10 districts and 156 townships, towns, and neighborhoods, promoting communication and harmony among residents. It will also feature a competition showcasing outstanding resident autonomy projects and a contest for resident autonomy center program clubs.

Key events at the expo include exhibitions of outstanding cases and local specialties by district, sharing of regionally distinctive foods, hands-on experiences with autonomy center programs, a competition for exemplary resident autonomy projects (resident autonomy pilot projects), and cultural events featuring contests among resident autonomy center clubs. Various exhibition and experience programs will be provided.

The city expects that through the expo, citizens will be able to experience firsthand the excellence and development process of resident autonomy in Incheon. Among the total 156 townships, towns, and neighborhoods, 142 have been piloted as resident autonomy committees, showing the second-highest conversion rate nationwide, playing a leading role in revitalizing resident autonomy.

An Incheon city official stated, "We hope that the expo will provide a comprehensive view of the development of resident autonomy and serve as an opportunity for residents to think more deeply about their communities and bring about practical changes. We will do our best to prepare so that the event can be successfully held through cooperation between the public and private sectors."
