Circular 5-Course 'Jongno Dullegil' to Open Next Month Jongno Dullegil. Provided by Jongno-gu.

Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) announced on the 31st that it will open the ‘Jongno Dullegil,’ a circular trail consisting of five courses with a total length of 15.8 km, including Inwangsan, Bugaksan, Naksan, Cheonggyecheon, and Gwanghwamun. The opening ceremony will be held on the 2nd of next month from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the yard in front of the Jeonsa-cheong at Sajikdan.

This project focuses on developing a design that reflects the characteristics and symbolism of the Jongno Dullegil and applying it to the guidance system to create organically specialized spaces linked with local resources. Jongno-gu plans to sequentially specialize five key spaces, transforming these areas not only to enhance accessibility and visibility but also into forest community spaces where all citizens can feel nature and relax.

First, this year, near the Inwang Badminton Court, the entrance space of the Inwangsan course, the district separated exercise and resting areas and planted Rhododendrons and herbaceous plants. To improve the narrow entrance pathway, stairs were expanded and flower beds were maintained. Sunrise Hill and Inwang Health Maru (tentative name) are also scheduled for maintenance.

Jongno-gu is recruiting ‘Dullegil Supporters’ and will operate a ‘Forest Interpretation Program’ on the Inwangsan and Bugaksan courses, which shine with beautiful natural scenery and long-standing history.

District Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “I recommend that citizens and tourists alike take a break in the Jongno Dullegil, which organically connects Jongno’s rich natural, historical, and cultural resources, caring for both physical and mental health and putting a comma in their daily lives.”
